Embedded SubRip subtitles display the wrong language; external subtitles work correctly

I am experiencing a mismatch between the subtitle track shown as selected in JellyWatch Player and the subtitles actually displayed during playback. This issue only affects embedded SubRip subtitle tracks. Tracks marked as external work correctly. For example, when I select “English — SubRip,” the interface marks that track as selected and continues to indicate that English subtitles are active. However, the subtitles actually displayed on screen are in Arabic. The interface does NOT switch its selection to Arabic: it still shows English as the active track, even though the viewer is seeing subtitles in a different language. Environment: - Client: JellyWatch Player - Device: Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K - Server: Jellyfin running in an LXC container - Playback: Direct Play - Affected subtitles: Embedded SubRip tracks - Unaffected subtitles: Tracks marked as external Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a TV episode containing multiple embedded SubRip subtitle tracks. 2. Start playback. 3. Open the subtitle selection menu. 4. Select “English — SubRip.” 5. Confirm that the interface marks English as the selected/active subtitle track. 6. Observe that the subtitles actually displayed on screen are in Arabic. 7. Reopen the subtitle selection menu: English is still shown as selected, despite Arabic subtitles being displayed. Expected behavior: The subtitle track marked as selected in the interface should be the same track rendered during playback. Selecting English should display English subtitles. Actual behavior: The interface confirms and retains the selected track, but the player renders a different subtitle track in another language. This makes the displayed selection misleading and prevents reliable subtitle selection. Scope: - Embedded SubRip tracks: selected track and displayed subtitles do not match. - External subtitle tracks: selection and displayed subtitles match correctly. - Video playback works through Direct Play. This appears to be a mismatch between the track selected in the interface and the embedded subtitle track activated by the playback engine. The underlying cause has not been confirmed. Please investigate the mapping between the subtitle selection UI and the embedded subtitle tracks used during playback. I can provide app and server versions, media stream information, logs, or screenshots if needed.
