JellyWatch TV repeatedly requests video data for two movies in “Continue Watching” even though I am not playing either movie. This causes disk reads on my Jellyfin server and prevents the HDDs from entering standby. Environment: - Sony KD-75X81J, identified as BRAVIA 4K VH2. - Jellyfin Server 12.2.0 on Windows. - Client identifies itself as JellyWatch TV. - HTTP User-Agent: okhttp/5.5.0. Observed behaviour: The client alternates between the two movies approximately every 6 seconds, requesting each movie approximately every 12–13 seconds: POST /Items/{movieId}/PlaybackInfo GET /Videos/{movieId}/stream.mkv Windows disk/file tracing confirms that jellyfin.exe repeatedly reads the corresponding MKV files. I observed the activity continuing overnight. Confirmation: After I completely closed JellyWatch on the TV, the repeated accesses stopped and the disks were able to remain idle. Steps to reproduce in my setup: 1. Have partially watched movies in Continue Watching. 2. Leave JellyWatch open without actively playing a movie. 3. Monitor requests to Jellyfin and disk activity. 4. Completely close JellyWatch: the repeated accesses stop. Expected behaviour: Displaying Continue Watching should not continuously request the movie streams. Any preloading or retry activity should be bounded and should stop when no playback is active or the app is in the background. Could you investigate whether a preview, preload or retry loop is responsible? I can provide a sanitized request log and screenshots of the file activity.

Fix V926+ Thank you for the detailed report, it helped a lot. We found the cause. On the Home screen, the hero banner rotates automatically every 6 seconds between your Continue Watching movies, and each rotation preloaded the movie (PlaybackInfo request plus a 512 KB read of the file). With two movies in the banner, each one was reloaded every 12 to 13 seconds, and the loop never stopped while the app stayed open. We are changing it so nothing is preloaded during the automatic rotation, the rotation pauses when the app is idle or in the background, and files are only read when you actually focus Play or open a title. We will update this ticket when the fix is released. Closing the app, as you did, is the right workaround until then.
