Emby-Trakt Suite

A self-hosted companion app for Emby that adds Watch Party support, smart recommendations, and Trakt integration — all running from a single Docker container on your local network.

Watch Party

The main feature. Pick something from your Emby library, create a party, and share the code. Everyone joins from their own device and playback is synchronised — play, pause, and seek all happen together. A live chat with emoji reactions runs alongside. All participants need an Emby account on the server. Use tail scale or (eeek port forwarding) to allow eternal users to conenct to the app, port 8000, can be changed in .env..

Other Features

The suite also builds a personalised Smart Watch Queue ranked by your Trakt watchlist, trending content, and upcoming episodes. An ML model trained on your rating history predicts scores for unwatched items. Universe Discovery organises franchises like Marvel and Star Wars into ordered playlists. A Taste Profile analyses your rating biases and suggests content outside your comfort zone. Scrobble Audit catches anything played in Emby but missing from Trakt. Radarr and Sonarr integration lets you send missing items to download in one click.

Everything runs on a schedule with no manual upkeep needed.

Should work on jellyfin also, although not tested, maybe some of the endpoints are different from emby..

Allows you to play directly from the items page on trakt, imdb and tmdb, will give you found devices to play on. Do not pin it to the toolbar, as it will pop up when rqd.
