Description
Astra is a Jellyfin client built for Amazon Vega OS — the Linux-based platform running on the newest Fire TV Stick hardware. Vega OS replaced Android TV on these devices and removed sideloading entirely, which broke every existing Jellyfin client on the platform. Astra was built from scratch against Amazon's Vega OS SDK to bring Jellyfin back to these Fire TV Sticks.
Connect Astra to your own Jellyfin server (local network over HTTP or remote over HTTPS) and browse your movie and TV libraries from the couch. Astra supports searching your server, viewing season/episode and cast details, resuming playback where you left off, and switching between multiple saved servers. Playback runs through the native Vega media stack with Jellyfin transcode fallback for anything that isn't directly compatible.
Astra is a client only — it has no hosted backend, no bundled content, and no accounts of its own. Everything you see comes from your own Jellyfin server.
Currently on version 1.0.1, live on the Amazon Appstore. Actively developed, with more on the way — stay tuned.
