What is WatchPass?
WatchPass is a premium add-on purchased by the admin that gives their Jellyfin (or Emby) server users a dedicated, native Android interface inside JellyWatch (or EmbyWatch). Instead of relying on a web browser or a third-party client, WatchPass provides a ready-to-use app experience the moment a user logs in with their server credentials.
WatchPass requires Admin Features to be purchased first. Once the admin has both products, access is automatic -- no invite link or configuration is needed for users.
What Users Get
WatchPass provides a complete interface organized into 4 tabs:
Dashboard
The user's personal home screen:
- Watch stats and viewing history for the last 7 days.
- Recently added content carousel.
- Active media requests carousel (Jellyseerr or Seerr).
Library
Full access to the server media library:
- Browse all libraries (movies, series, music, books).
- Open detailed media pages with cast, seasons, and episodes.
- Play content directly in the built-in native player.
- Search across the entire library.
Requests
Requires WatchPass to be active:
- Browse trending movies and series.
- Search for any title and request it with a single tap.
- Track the status of existing requests (pending, approved, available).
- Browse by network, studio, or collection.
If WatchPass is not active, this tab shows a lock screen.
Issues
Requires WatchPass to be active:
- Report playback problems directly from any media page.
- View all previously reported issues and their status.
- Read the full conversation thread with the admin for each issue.

Built-In Media Player

Setup
For the Admin
- Purchase Admin Features from More > Premium > Plans.
- Purchase WatchPass from the same screen (now unlocked).
- Ensure your users have accounts on your Jellyfin or Emby server with appropriate library permissions.
- Nothing else is required. Users log in and the interface unlocks automatically.
Optional: As an admin, you can switch to the WatchPass interface at any time without logging out. A Switch to Admin UI button is visible at the top of the WatchPass interface for admin accounts.
For the User
- Download JellyWatch (or EmbyWatch) from the Google Play Store.
- Log in with your server username and password.
- The app detects that your admin has WatchPass active and unlocks the interface automatically.
Access Rules
- Access is verified server-side by the JellyWatch backend on each app launch.
- If WatchPass lapses, the Requests and Issues tabs lock. The Library tab remains accessible.
- A Watch Pass badge appears in the header when access is confirmed.
EmbyWatch
EmbyWatch supports the exact same WatchPass feature. All behavior, interface, and setup steps are identical.
