Overview
On a TV, JellyWatch Player has its own screensaver. When you stop pressing buttons, it replaces the screen with a slideshow of backdrops and posters from your libraries. Any button press returns you to the screen you were on.
The screensaver does not run during video playback. When music is playing, it shows a Now Playing overlay.
The slideshow uses a slow zoom, a parallax effect and cross-fades. Elements shift position over time to protect OLED screens from burn-in.
Settings
Open Settings → Appearance → Screensaver and choose when it starts:
| Option | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Off | No screensaver. The system screensaver takes over after the usual delay. |
| 2, 5, 10, 15 or 30 min | Inactivity time before the screensaver starts. The default is 5 minutes. |
Good to know
- Images come from your server and are cached to avoid network requests while the slideshow runs.
- While the app is in the foreground it keeps the screen awake. When you leave the app, the TV can go to standby as usual.
- If you turn the screensaver off, your TV's own screensaver settings apply (Android TV Settings → Screen saver).
