Music library
A music library opens a dedicated music home with Albums, Artists, Genres and Playlists. On a phone, Music is a tile on the Library tab.
Playback continues in the background and across screens. You get:
- A mini-player that stays on screen while you browse.
- A full Now Playing screen with the album art, the Queue, Shuffle and Repeat.
- A Shuffle all button.
- A Sleep timer (minutes) with Cancel timer.
Playback reports to your server, so your listening history stays in sync. On TV the screensaver shows a Now Playing overlay while music plays.
Music settings
Open Settings → Music:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Music Direct Play | On: the original file is played, full quality and seekable (recommended on a home network). Off: the server transcodes. |
| Music streaming bitrate | 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps (default 320). Shown when Direct Play is off. |
| Volume normalization (ReplayGain) | Evens out loudness between tracks |
| Equalizer | See below |
Equalizer
Turn the Equalizer on to get five band sliders and presets: Flat, Bass boost, Vocal clarity, Loudness, Night mode and Hi-Fi. Reset to flat clears your changes.
Presets are free. Moving the band sliders yourself (Custom band tuning) needs Premium.
While the equalizer is active, 5.1 and 7.1 audio is mixed down to stereo. This is a limit of Android's equalizer.
Android Auto (Google Play version)
When your phone is connected to a car with Android Auto, JellyWatch Player appears in the media apps. It plays music and audiobooks from your Jellyfin or Emby server.
- Browse Albums, Artists, Genres, Playlists and Audiobooks, with A-Z navigation for large libraries.
- Favorites are at the top level, with Recently Played and Recently Added.
- Voice search: say "Play [artist] on JellyWatch Player".
- Shuffle all and Instant Mix (radio) from an album, artist or track.
- Album art, track details and playback position sync with your server.
Android Auto is not available in the Amazon Fire TV build, and it plays audio only.
