One Home for several servers
If you have libraries on more than one server, you can link your profiles. Home then shows one combined view: Continue Watching, Next Up and Recently Added come from every linked server. A small label on each card tells you which server it belongs to.
Linked profiles need Premium. Without it, you can still keep several accounts and switch between them.
Each linked profile stays independent for playback and watch history. Kids profiles cannot be linked.
Before you start
You need at least two accounts on the device, on different servers. Add the second one first. See Multi-account.
Link profiles
- Open Who's watching?
- Select the link icon under a profile (Link profile).
- Pick the profile to link it with. To add a third one, use Add account to group.
The profile card then shows a Linked profiles badge and the number of profiles in the group.
If no other profile is available, the app says No other profiles available to link. Add a second account from a different server first.
Manage a group
- Manage linked profiles lets you remove one profile from the group.
- Unlink all dissolves the group.
Removing a link does not delete anything on your servers.
What changes
- Home, Search and several other screens read from every server in the group.
- When you open a screen that belongs to one server (for example Watch Pass, Watch Party, Achievements, Favorites, Admin or Recommendations), the app asks Choose a server.
- Library items in the sidebar open on the server that owns them.
- Pressing Play connects to the right server by itself.
- In Settings, a banner shows which account you are configuring (Configuring settings for …). Select it to switch.
Different people on the same TV
Linked profiles are for one person with several servers. For different people, add separate accounts and switch with Who's watching?. Each person keeps their own history and settings.
