Backup, Restore and Copy Settings

Save your profiles and settings to the cloud or to a file, restore them on a new device, and copy settings between profiles.

What is saved

A backup contains:

  • All profiles
  • Passwords (encrypted)
  • Playback settings
  • Audio and passthrough settings
  • Subtitle style
  • Home layout
  • Parental controls
  • Appearance and theme

Cloud backup

The cloud backup is linked to your Google account through Quick Login. Backup & Restore needs Premium.

  1. Sign in to the TV with Sign in from JellyWatch app and Connect my TV on your phone. See Connecting your server.
  2. Open Settings → Backup & Restore. The screen shows Connected to JellyWatch Cloud, the date of the Last backup and the number of profiles.
  3. Select Save to back up, or Restore to get a backup back. Restoring replaces all current settings and cannot be undone.

If the TV is not linked, the screen says Link with Quick Login. Use Quick Login first.

When you sign in on a new device with Quick Login, the app tells you when a backup is found (Backup found) and lets you Restore or Skip.

Backup to a file

The file backup works without an account.

  • Export to file saves all profiles and settings to a file in the Downloads folder.
  • Import from file restores from a backup file. The app tells you how many profiles were restored. If no file is in Downloads, it says No backup file found in Downloads. Export one first.

Keep the file on a USB stick or a cloud drive to move to another device. You can also import it from the login screen with Restore settings from file.

Copy settings between profiles

Settings → Copy Settings copies preferences from one profile to another. It needs Premium. Library preferences are not changed.

  • On TV you choose a profile to copy settings from. They replace the settings of the current profile.
  • On phone and tablet you choose the profile that will receive the settings of the current profile.

If either profile has a PIN, the app asks for it first. A confirmation dialog explains that the destination settings will be replaced.
