Cloud Backup
- Device migration — Automatically recover your settings on a new device
- Secure online storage — Backup stored on JellyWatch servers
- Multi-device — Synchronize the same configuration across multiple devices
Local Backup
- Without Google account — Use JellyWatch without Google sign-in
- Configuration sharing — Share your setup with other users
- Manual backup — Create snapshots before modifying settings
- Full control — Store your backups wherever you want
Security
⚠️ Important: Backup files contain your server credentials and API keys in encrypted form. Even though encrypted, store them in a secure location.
Encryption
- Passwords and tokens are encrypted using AES
- The encryption key is based on the device’s unique ID
- Local backups use the same encryption level as Cloud backups
Best Practices
- Do not share your backup files publicly
- Store local backups in a secure location
- Use Cloud backup for automatic protection
- Create a local backup before major updates
Disconnect Google Account
To disconnect your Google account:
- Go to Settings → Backup & Restore
- Tap "Disconnect" next to your email address
- You can still use local backups
Differences Between Modes
Admin Mode
- Saves custom menu preferences
- Saves all notification configurations
- Requires restoration from an Admin backup (in strict mode)
Personal Mode
- Does not save menu preferences
- Notification settings disabled by default
- Refresh interval fixed at 30 seconds
Note: In onboarding mode (first launch), you can restore either an Admin or Personal backup. From Settings, only a backup from the same mode is accepted.
