Login Screen
When you launch JellyWatch for Android TV for the first time, you land on the Login screen.
Standard Login
- Enter your Server URL (e.g.
https://jellyfin.yourdomain.comorhttps://emby.yourdomain.com). - JellyWatch automatically detects whether the server is Jellyfin or Emby and selects the correct type. You can adjust the selection manually if needed.
- Enter your username and password.
- Press Connect.
Quick Login
Tap Quick Login to use a QR code or short code scanned from another JellyWatch session - useful when typing a password with a TV remote is inconvenient.
Navigating the Login Screen with a Remote
- Use the D-pad (up / down / left / right) to move between fields.
- Press Select / OK to activate a focused field or button.
- The on-screen keyboard appears automatically when a text field is focused.
Server Type Detection
After you enter the server URL, JellyWatch probes the server to detect whether it is running Jellyfin or Emby. The detected type is shown on screen and can be overridden with the server type selector.
Dual URL Mode
JellyWatch for Android TV supports dual URL mode (local + external) for both Jellyfin and Emby servers. Configure it from Settings -> Servers after your first login.
Multiple Accounts
You can add multiple accounts -- different servers (Jellyfin or Emby) or different users on the same server. Switch accounts from the avatar menu in the sidebar.
Troubleshooting

| Cannot reach server | Verify the URL in a browser on another device |
| SSL error | Enable self-signed certificate support in Settings -> Servers |
| Login fails | Check username/password; verify API access is not restricted |
| Slow keyboard input | Use Quick Login or a Bluetooth keyboard |
| Wrong server type detected | Use the server type selector on the login screen to switch between Jellyfin and Emby |
