What is Watch Pass?
Watch Pass is a one-time add-on bought by the server admin in JellyWatch Admin. It unlocks a set of personal features for the admin's Jellyfin users in JellyWatch Player (Android TV, Fire TV, phone and tablet).
Users buy nothing. Watching and browsing in JellyWatch Player stay free, and Watch Pass adds requests, history, stats and issue reports on top.
Watch Pass needs the lifetime Admin Features purchase first. A free trial does not count. It is a one-time purchase with unlimited users.
What users get
Everything below appears in JellyWatch Player, on the Watch Pass screen and in the related request screens. See Watch Pass in JellyWatch Player.
Media requests
- Browse trending and popular movies and series, and collections.
- Search for any title and request it. With Unified search on in the Player, titles missing from the library appear in search with a Request button.
- Track the status of each request (pending, approved, declined, processing, available).

Request notifications
Users are notified when a requested title is ready. An Available requests row also appears on the Player's Home screen. Notifications while the Player is closed work on phone and tablet only, and they also need Premium in JellyWatch Player on the user's device.
History and stats
- The last 7 days of watch history, with posters and episode numbers.
- Totals for items watched, movies, episodes and watch time, plus a favorite genre.
- Shown when you turned on Enable Stats Display.
Issue reports
Users report a playback problem (video, audio or subtitles) so you can fix it, and follow the status of their reports.
Messages from the admin
You can show an announcement banner on the Watch Pass screen of every user.
Setup (for the admin, in JellyWatch Admin)
- Buy Admin Features (lifetime) from More → Premium → Plans.
- Buy Watch Pass from the same screen. It unlocks once Admin Features is active.
- Open More → Watch Pass. If it has been moved, use the Watch Pass badge on the dashboard.
- Follow the Get Started with Watch Pass guide:
- Create Jellyfin accounts for your users.
- Select Add Friend and choose their Jellyfin usernames. Add yourself too: the owner must be in the list.
- Select Invite a Friend (or the share button at the top) to send a pre-filled message with the JellyWatch Player download link and your server address.
- Make sure each user's Jellyfin account is linked in Seerr.
Settings
Open Settings on the Watch Pass screen:

| User Stats Display | Enable Stats Display lets users see their own history and statistics. Set the sync interval, or use Sync Now. A manual sync can take several minutes. |
Users
- The Users list shows how many added users have connected (for example 3 of 5 users connected). Invite a Friend appears when some users have never connected.
- To remove users, select them and confirm. You cannot remove your own slot.
Switch to User UI
The Switch to User UI button opens the simplified, deprecated user interface of JellyWatch Admin. It works only if you are in your own user list.
For your users (in JellyWatch Player)
- Install JellyWatch Player from Google Play (Android TV, phone, tablet) or the Amazon Appstore (Fire TV).
- Add your server and sign in with their own Jellyfin username and password.
- Open Watch Pass. It unlocks automatically once you added them.
Access rules
- JellyWatch Player checks Watch Pass with the JellyWatch backend each time it starts. The screen shows an Active or Inactive badge and whether the user is the Owner or a Member.
- If Watch Pass lapses, or the user has not been added, the Watch Pass features stay locked. Playback and library browsing are not affected.
- The user's Jellyfin account must be linked in Seerr. Local Seerr-only accounts are not supported.
- Without an active Watch Pass, the screen explains what Watch Pass is and tells the user to ask the server admin for access.
